Introducing Shinto: Towels That Slow You Down

Introducing Shinto: Towels That Slow You Down

There’s something grounding about reaching for the same comforting things, day after day. The quiet, often overlooked essentials that gently shape our daily rhythm is the essence of our Bare Living collection.

The 2.5-ply gauze towels by Shinto are one of those pieces. Woven in Osaka, Japan using time-honoured techniques, they embody the beauty of tradition and simplicity coexisting. As towel specialists with over a century of expertise, Shinto shares our philosophy of doing fewer things—and doing them exceptionally well.

Crafted from 100% organic cotton on traditional looms by skilled artisans, the towels have become a part of my everyday rhythm. Lighter and thinner than the oversized towels we're used to in North America, they felt unfamiliar at first—but quickly became a quiet luxury I reach for daily. They dry faster, stay fresher, and have outperformed every towel I’ve used. They've become a staple in my home, and I hope they find a place in yours, too.
