September Self Care Favourites Under $20.

September is often a time of transition. We return from taking time off during the summer, kids go back to school and days start to feel shorter and busier. Small acts of self care daily can help provide joy and ease during transitional times and keep us grounded. Self care doesn't need to involve lavish spending or vacations. It can be small rituals and treats daily or weekly that help bring joy into your life.  We've included a list below of some of our favourite's from independent brands and makers all under $20.

  1. Nectrous Botanicals: We are all going through lots of soap these days, and we've been loving the bars by Vancouver based Nectrous Botanicals. We've tried the terrazzo bar, glow bar and dark bar and each has left our hands feeling moisturized. Bonus-they look pretty and leave your bathroom smelling amazing.

  2. Alter Planning Co: Well we can all agree that this year has been pretty unpredictable and tough to plan. We find keeping a planner can help ease anxieties, prevent over-scheduling yourself and bring a sense of calm to your day ahead. Alter Planning Co. offers a short term 30 Day Calendar that can kick start Fall on the right track with monthly focus planning, habit tracking and budget planning.

  3. Kin + Pod Chocolate: The perfect 3 pm pick me up to keep safe in your desk drawer. If you are a chocolate lover (who isn't) you will love Kin + Pod ethically sourced bean to bar chocolate. Espresso, sea salt and caramel are on heavy rotation in our office. Vegan and gluten free options are also available.

  4. Cereal Magazine: Putting down the phone and picking up a good book or magazine can help transport you to an off-screen world and calm the mind. If your still a sucker for a good tangible magazine's like us Cereal Magazine is one of our favourites. Covering travel, art and design you'll put it down and feel re-inspired.

  5. Woodlot Essential Oil: Essential oils can help make your work from home office feel a bit more cozy. We love the essential oils from fellow Vancouver business-Woodlot. We always have the original scent on deck but love the wildwoods and cinder scents for those cozy fall feels.
